Adblock Plus won't uninstall
I was trying to watch a video on CBS.com, and it said it couldn't play it until I disabled my adblocker. So I "disabled on this page." It still showed the message, so I uninstalled the plugin completely from Firefox. It still showed the message. Restarted the browser. Still showed the message. Deleted the "Adblock Plus" folder from my Firefox profile settings. Still showed the message. Reset all of the "extensions.adblockplus" in about:config. Still showed the message. Reset the browser to factory settings. Still showed the message. Created a new profile. Still showed the message. Reinstalled the browser. Still showed the message. Uninstalled the browser, deleted every "Mozilla" directory on my computer, and reinstalled. Still showed the message.
How can I completely remove Adblock Plus from my browser?
I never had this message appear before I tried Adblock Plus, so it's not some browser setting that I've enabled. And before you say "Check your antivirus," the video WILL play when I have Firefox in Safe Mode, so it's clearly something that the extension has mucked up within my browser, and not something else on my computer.

Re: Adblock Plus won't uninstall
If you have other adblocking addons (ghostery, anti banner, disconnect...) disable them all and try again.

Re: Adblock Plus won't uninstall
I don't have other adblockers. Adblock Plus is the only one I've ever installed. And regardless, all of my addons should have been removed when I reset Firefox to its default settings. For whatever reason, Adblock Plus has just latched itself into my system like a virus.

test firefox portable without any addon

Re: Adblock Plus won't uninstall
Firefox Portable works, but obviously I want it to work in my default Firefox installation instead.
Re: Adblock Plus won't uninstall
Try to manually delete the Firefox folder containing your old user profiles and profiles.ini file
1. Click the Windows Start button and select Run
2. type in %APPDATA% in the Run prompt then click OK.
3. open the folder named Mozilla
4. move or delete the folder named Firefox

I already tried that. I uninstalled the browser, then deleted all of the Mozilla folders in AppData. It's still happening.

Re: Adblock Plus won't uninstall
I already deleted the Adblock Plus folder from my profile. Are there other files that need to be deleted?

Nope. Don't even have a Firefox account.

If it's not possible to fully remove the program - if your program makes changes to my system that are impossible to undo - then is that not the behavior of a virus?
Re: Adblock Plus won't uninstall
No, ABP does not make changes to your system ==> see the FF portable which is working fine.

Re: Adblock Plus won't uninstall
If anything, that proves my point. If ABP didn't change my system, then completely removing and reinstalling Firefox should have reset it. Because Firefox Portable operates out of its own directory, it shouldn't be affected by anything that happens in the main Firefox installation. Therefore, it proves that something happened when I installed ABP.
Frankly, ABP should've uninstalled itself when I removed the addon. The fact that I had to do anything more is indicative of a shoddy, invasive program.

@JustSomeGuy--
Did you ever get a satisfactory answer? or manage to successfull uninstall ABP?
@mapx--
I have the same issue, have jumped through all the same hoops, and simply not able to uninstall the ABP Virus. What gives? How do I get rid of ABP in its ENTIRETY??? I'm running Win10 on a Surface Pro 3. This is driving me nuts, has been for a long, LONG time.
