[Done] Tooltip: more specific information about "blocked"

If you hover the mouse cursor over the ABP icon a tooltip appears telling you how many items have been blocked.

What do you think about changing it to be more specific.

eg:

5 items blocked
3 items hidden
1 active whitelist

Instead of just saying 8 items blocked (grouping blocked and hidden items together) and ignoring whitelists.

Glad to see this got included in the roadmap, maybe some information about the users subscriptions under the "Status" heading should be included too.

I see where you are coming from but it is one thing for ABP to be active and another for it to have rules. We still get a few "my ABP isn't blocking anything" posts in the forum and the majority of them are because the user does not have a subscription. I thought it would be a very easy way for a non-technical user to check.

I don't feel that strongly about it though.

I think that, to reduce user confusion, ABP should complain in some way if it doesn't have a working subscription (unless the user explicitly chose not to use any).

Adblock Plus is active.
2 filter subscription(s) and 12 custom filter(s) in use.

Translators might have a problem with this sentence however...

It's a tooltip, it isn't supposed to be interactive... In particular, it will always disappear if you try to move the mouse over it.

I should have been more clear, I don't mean for the tooltip to be interactive, I thought it might be helpful to let the user know that clicking on the ABP toolbar icon gives the user access to more information about the filters they have.

I'm not sure if the "Most active filters" part is of much use.

I often use it instead of opening the Blockable Items pane. It provides more useful information than just something like

I personally find that the large amount of active filters on the average page make the limited amount of filters displayed in the tooltip useless.

Hey, whatever floats your boat. But I hear ya; there's no substitute for the Blockable Items pane when you want to see it all. I primarily use the tooltip to find out if anything is being blocked at all, not often, but it's a little handier than Ctl+Shift+V. It currently lists the three most active filters, which is somewhat helpful at times too.

Today I found myself using the current tooltips to check what was active on a page without even realising it, I like the idea of expanding on them

But now have to agree with Alan, the new information should not replace the current but rather supplement it.
