Edit Exact Error message - Easylist failed to fetch this filter
I've rebuilt my computer couple of days back and ever since from that day, the easy list filter wasnt being updated. Same with couple of other filters as well (social filter and privacy filter).
The ads were driving me crazy and really got me to think about the value of adblock. Believe me you dont want to see whats out there without adblock. Anyway I digress. I finally decided to fix this and started searching forums and what not. But none of them fixed my problem.
So I started digging out stuff. The problem here was that the url --> https://easylist-downloads.adblockplus.org/easylist.txt was giving me certificate errors. Apparently these were issued by startcom and it isnt in one of the root CA stores by default. So a little bit of further search gave me this link from microsoft --> http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... x?id=38918, so after updating the root store, adblock was able to access the easylist and then happy times - adblock was able to fetch the filter.
I am just posting here to help anyone of the same problem out there.
