Download of AdblockPlus for offline installation

I use my 3G internet only for emails and information browsing, not big downloads due to high cost of my capped service.
Even limiting my 3G internet to that, I am surprised I am paying penalties for exceeding the cap, and so thought to install Adblock Plus to strip the dl traffic of graphics laden adverts. However, when at the Vodafone shop with my pendrive, we tried to download Adblock Plus, every site we googled 'adblock plus zip', only offered direct online install, which is no use for saving on the pendrive for later offline install.

Can anyone show me part of the adblockplus.org site with a zipped version of Adblockplus to download for later offline install ?

It appears from this site there is no generic version suitable for all Browsers, so do I need to dl and install separate Adblockplus's for each browser I use ?

Lastly, does anyone know where I can find realistic estimates of % internet traffic saving achieved by Adblockplus for users whose typical browsing is general news and tech websites eg. TheGuardian, TheRegister, fudzilla, tomshardware, anandtech etc ?

there is no generic version, so if you need for chrome and access adblockplus.org, automatically you'll be redirected to:

Thanks for your reply. I clicked on your Chrome link but it looked like the same online direct install we saw when I was at my cel phone companies shop and obviously we dont to install onto their system.

Unlike years ago when a simple download for later install was the norm, I know MS and other software suppliers keep pushing direct install (hiding away offline install in obscure places), but as explained in my post, I use my capped 3G connection only for emails & browsing to avoid incurring penalty charges for exceeding their cap. I read many other users also prefer offline installs as being more secure.

Also, does anyone have info on my 2nd question, if there are any estimates of the typical % reduction of traffic by Adblock plus when browsing the type of websites described ?

so, you want to download ABP for chrome or for android ?

for chrome, go to
en/chrome

right click "install for chrome", save link as and you'll download the crx file
then you can install the crx file:
go to extensions page
chrome://extensions
drag & drop the downloaded crx file
install it

for android:
en/android-install
click download

Many thanks, installed without problem, enabled all 3 of the 'options', can see the ABP icon on addr line but not immediately blocking Ads, maybe it will next time I reboot laptop.

The method posted for offline installation is correct. I did it like this only. But one problem I faced is:

After offline installation of adblock plus, the filter lists are not automatically downloaded. You need to manually click the "update now" button.

Is there any way to download those filter lists too?

yes its possible, install adblockplus AND THE FILTER online, save the "patterns.ini" in the adblock-Folder

than in offline modus: install the adblockplus.apk, copy the saved "patterns.ini" in the adblock-Folder back
