Hiding ads but requesting them to the server

Post by miquel »

It looks like addblock annoys some people. I received the following message:

<<Notice from GameKnot: It appears you are blocking some or all of the advertising on GameKnot (banner ads, pop-ups, etc.). As you probably know, the free accounts on GameKnot are supported by paid advertising, and since you have blocked ads on your computer, we will not be able to continue to provide you with a free account any longer. Please subscribe to a premium membership, or allow all ads to be shown on our website. Thank you for your understanding.>>

Is there any way to avoid them detect I am not watching their silly ads? I mean, to actually request the add but not showing it on the screen?

By the way is this legal?

Yep, use my filters. Sadly stupid people like this have found a way to detect if google adsense scripts are blocked or not by detecting if certain elements are loaded.

I modified my list to fix this (filter authors look in the pvt forum) but not all lists have done so yet :(

This code makes it a sad, sad day for AdBlockers... but we found a work around anyway, so up yours google!

Thanks!
