Auto user agent Switch to specific web sites ?

Post by mikko »

while some website started to block Firefox because i think that ad block+ need to add new filter set thats site on them will use Other user agent (ie6,7...) user choice

or build other extension that integrate with adblock like element hiding helper

the Classic user agent switcher extension is not really good solution because its switch only for session and not for specific sites

can you tell me if my idea practical?

I don't know of any sites that block Firefox by user agent. Actually, I only know of one site that blocks Firefox users - and it does that with any browser not supporting document.all (meaning any browser but Internet Explorer). But you wouldn't want to read that site anyway, right?

Konqueror and Opera support document.all, I believe

Opera - yes. Konqueror/Safari - I don't think so. Firefox supports document.all itself for compatibility, but only if a website doesn't check it first.
