Getting back the blockable items sidebar?
Getting back the blockable items sidebar?
First off, thanks for another fine new version of an extension that nobody can live without. It's great that we can keep track of matching element hiding rules now! The one new feature I'm not so happy with is the blockable elements being displayed at the bottom of the browser window.
I'm displaying the Address and Type columns only (isn't this the default?), so the new display gives me several hundred pixels (depends on the length of the URLs, of course) of dead white space between the data.
At the same time, while before I could review dozens of blockable items at a glance, it's now only ten or so (unless I'm hiding more and more of the website displayed).
Also, I'm surfing with the sidebar on most of the time, since much of the functionality I'm using all the time (bookmarks, history, ScrapBook) is going on in there. Now, with both the sidebar and the new blockable items list on, the window is really crowded and there isn't much space left for the actual website.
So, at the risk of being annoying, is there a pref or some other sort of trickery to get the blockable items back into the sidebar? I'm using SeaMonkey trunk nightlies on Windows.

SeaMonkey is one big reason why the sidebar will not be available even as option - implementing a sidebar there requires a number of hacks, and I am glad that these are finally out of the codebase. As with every change, there will be people who dislike it, but I am afraid I can only point you to the possibility to detach the list.
yeah you can detach the list but then that screws up the idea of a unified interface ie. everything in 1 window, why not have an option to choose where the blocklist is displayed eg, left/right/bottom/top why force it to be at the bottom where as the OP said you can only see 10items
before at a glance i could see 50+ blockable elements making identification so much easier
now maybe when v3 Moz is actually released to the public it would be worth debating
the sidebar is a good thing and very handy wether its reading RSS in Sage or using it as a content holder (like IE side search) even IE7 now uses the sidebar for displaying history and bookmarks, getting rid of it serves no useful purpose and is ingrained as a usable option in UI design

Right you are Fox. I should have added that part too .... now the scrollbar for the page and the info itself is easier to work with because the page is now ABOVE the blockable items' list and NOT partially BEHIND it.Fox wrote:Me too. But now, i like this bottom bar much more, because i can now at the same time see page better.rick752 wrote:Agreed. Before this, I would detach the blockable items window and position it at the bottom and the full with of my screen anyway, so this is no different.
