No icon for ABP when in Linux; Windows fine

I'm using the same profile for windows as well as linux so I don't need to hassle with history and bookmarks and so on, but strangely there is no icon for either tool- or statusbar button when using Linux (might depend on window manager; haven't checked; currently being in windows so I can't check right now). The buttons still work normally though and Adblock works as well. It's just that the icon doesn't appear. CookieButton, FlashBlock, Imagebot, WebDev Toolbar work fine, so I guess it has something to do with ABP?
Any ideas?
The profile was completely set up on windows and Firefox accesses it "directly" on the NTFS drive (well, it actually accesses its "normal" Linux profile folder but a kind of shortcut or similar (no idea; new to Linux) auto redirects it to the mounted NTFS drive. Both installations use 2.0.0.3/en-US.
Anything else I could provide?

So if you go to Tools / Adblock Plus and check the Options menu in the Adblock Plus Preferences - are "show in toolbar" and "show in status bar" options checked? Try changing them even if they are.
