chrome: Status subwindow fails to appear

Windows 7 SP1. I don't know if this is AdblockPlus related, but starting a few weeks ago, the Chrome status dynamic subwindow at the bottom of the screen stopped appearing after a few hours of browser use. I have to restart Chrome to clear the issue. Neither the page load status nor the URL flyover info displays until I restart Chrome. Has anyone else seen this? Thanks for any suggestions.

To test, whether this might be relatet to ABP, try disabling oir removing it and then try again. If the issue should be reliably reproducable with ABP enabled while not appearing with ABP disabled, please file it at https://issues.adblockplus.org
