Rick, you might be on a server that hasn't been updated yet. Check whether you can find the script I quoted above in View Source.

And here is also the first bug report: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=368966. That's the only one I could find so far but I am sure many more will follow.

I'll check this out later.

I have removed the other whitelist and need to know if:

Code: Select all

@@yahoo.com*/ShowLetter?
works instead.

Can anyone check and see as I cannot reproduce this yet?

No, it won't work, it isn't site whitelisting. Yahoo doesn't put any images inside the message body, the images that fail to load are always external ones.

For now, I have again added the mail whitelisting to the EasyList subscription (after adding and then removing it).

The whitelisting in the EasyList will allow the ads to come through UNLESS you use the EasyElement subscription also.

Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce this problem and my yahoo mail account does not seem to exhibit this problem ..... so my hands are tied unless someone else can find a solution.

I will also be out tonight.

After a bunch of complaints, from both sides of yahoo's message pane bug ... that whitelist is now removed from the easylist. If you need to see certain email messages because the message pane doesn't show up, you can TRY disabling ABP or TRY adding this whitelist to your OWN filters:

Code: Select all

Note that this does not guarantee success ... as this can happen even WITHOUT Adblock being installed.
(ps: I don't think that this problem exists in the 'beta' mail interface ... but I could be wrong.)
Unless someone who can reproduce this error can find an answer. I can't do anything about it.

Rick, please don't use these general whitelisting rules, they are causing more harm than good. In this case it is really Yahoo breaking in Firefox, not your fault. The good news is that they already fixed it, the update should roll out sometime next week.

I shouldn't have in the first place ... it is my fault. I realized the error of doing that too late :(

At least some servers have been updated - the mails display as usually for me again. How about others? Anybody still experiencing this problem?
