ABP breaks Yahoo websites

Post by bezal »

I installed the latest ABP for IE today running it on IE 11, and after install it breaks every Yahoo page. It appears to break the CSS or something, because the entire page's layout is completely ruined. I checked all of the yahoo pages (Finance, Mail, News etc) and all of them have this problem.

Disabling ABP on yahoo.com did nothing. I had to uninstall ABP completely to get the Yahoo pages back to normal.

This makes me a super sad panda and I've always wanted ABP for IE but if I can't render Yahoo Finance properly I can't have it.

Any way to fix this?
Thanks.

It's been like this for me for a while now, compatibility all that nothing I have to uninstall ABP in order to get a useful Yahoo website. I can't even disable it on the Yahoo page.

Is there any chance this can get fixed in a new release? I would love to be able to use ABP in IE for the family.

This issue has been pointed out before, like 1.5 month ago or something. Take from that what you will.

I'm using Adblocker for iOS, I'm looking for a fix for the same issue.

It's a big problem for all ad blockers to deal with https pages. Because the ads are running within Yahoo mail's "https" pages, you either have to deal with the ads or use a different email.
I did find, however, that it works in Chrome and I have no ads at all in Yahoo mail when accessed through Chrome.
That being written, Chrome won't save passwords with ABP installed. It's a Catch-22. If you don't save passwords in Chrome - use Yahoo mail there.
The entire Yahoo system works MUCH better in Chrome than in IE.

Hmmm thanks for the tip - I can give it a shot in Chrome, but it's less Yahoo Mail and more Yahoo Finance that has to work for me. Password saving is no problem - I never save them.

I am having the same problems as most of the people above but it seems to work fine for yahoo's main page as well as for Yahoo Mail. Still have a problem with Finance, Sports, and News however I was able to disable ABP for those websites and they load correctly now.

It would be a BIG fix if we could get back to no ads on Yahoo Finance as many people use this page!

This prob may have to do w/ IE 11.
Many Yahoo users in Yahoo Answers/Yahoo Products/Answers were complaining abt display probs after updating to IE 11.
I'm using IE 10 in Win 7 without Ad Block & have no display probs @ Yahoo, but of course do have the annoyance of ads.
