Using Firefox 2.0.0.1 with Adblock Plus Version 0.7.2.4 on Linux and the EasyList (USA) filter, I've had only one problem to date, which I will mention here below:
When I login to my account at Digg.com, navigation seems to be fine until I go to submit a new news story. I enter the url of the news story and click submit, it's at the next submission page where you enter the news story topic description and body description where the whole page slows to a crawl and I can't type or click anything. When I check 'top' at the command line, my xorg process is around 90% with Firefox around 7 - 9 %. I have to manually killall the firefox-bin process and restart, but the same thing happens with Adblock Plus enabled. I have to disable Adblock Plus before going to Digg and submitting a news story for my Firefox not to freeze.
I'm sure this bug can be reproduced, the question is, what causes it and how may it be fixed?
Looking forward to the answer, thanks for reading

In my Firefox 2.0.0.1 on Windows XP SP2 this works fine. But then, this looks like it might be OS dependent so I'll try Linux later. Even more likely is however that this is one of those bugs that nobody can reproduce...
How do you disable Adblock Plus? Do you disable the extension via add-on manager or do you disable in Adblock Plus itself? Does removing EasyList change anything?

Wladimir Palant, thank you for your quick response and for testing this on Windows XP SP2 with Firefox 2.0.0.1. If you (or anyone else reading this running Linux with Firefox 2.0.0.1) have the chance to test it on a Linux box this would be great.Wladimir Palant wrote:In my Firefox 2.0.0.1 on Windows XP SP2 this works fine. That is possible, which is why I tried to describe the issue as best as possible to ensure other Linux users with this Firefox version could test it as well. Remember, the problem occurs when you get to the page on the Digg new article submission where you enter further information about your news submission, not the initial url submission page.Even more likely is however that this is one of those bugs that nobody can reproduce...
I disable it by clicking on my mouse wheel. How do you disable Adblock Plus?
That was my first thought, so I removed the related files from within the subdirectory and tried again but it didn't change anything, so now, sadly, I just use Digg without Adblock Plus enabled and enable ABP when I'm done using Digg.Does removing EasyList change anything?
That's weird. How about adding the filter rule "@@|http://digg.com/"? This is the same as choosing "Disable on digg.com" from the toolbar icon's menu.
