ABP freezes Firefox while "waiting for site.com"

Firefox 26, ABP 2.03, simple list, windows 7 pro, fast i7 64 bit machine, lots of ram

This behavior occurrs if ABP is enabled.

Netflix is a typical case where firefox becomes unresponsive while "waiting for movies.netflix.com". By unresponsive I mean I can't switch to another tab, move the window, or do anything with firefox until the page loads, and then it freezes sporatically until the entire page is loaded. Is this the normal behavior? What is happening that the whole GUI hangs while waiting for a page?

Ram is at 38%, cpu usage goes up to 80% on one of 4 cores, but why is firefox totally frozen?

Is this normal behavior?

try a new firefox profile (See my signature) and then do your test using only ABP (not other addons)

"simple list" means easylist ? or you have other lists ?

Apparently, I cannot reproduce your issue with FF 28 and ABP 2.5.1 If it still exists, you might want to file a detailed report at https://issues.adblockplus.org
