Incredibly slow launching email from Trillian or YIM

I recently installed the current dev build for Adblock Plus for IE on one of my laptops. (It is a Sony VAIO laptop running Windows Vista Home Premium SP2, if that matters.) I use Trillian to maintain all of my various IM connections, as well as to see when I have new mail. Simply double-clicking on the new mail launches a new IE instance, and brings up the Yahoo Mail login screen (or goes right to my inbox, if I've supplied Trillian with my userid and password for that account). Before installing Adblock Plus, launching mail from Trillian usually only took 1 or 2 seconds to open up the new IE window. After installing Adblock Plus, a blank IE window would open right away - but with no address bar, or status bar, or anything, just a blank white screen. I waited 30 seconds or more, but the Yahoo Mail screen never displayed. (I think once it might have, but it was certainly more than 30 seconds before it did.) I tried adding a number of different yahoo.com URLs to the exception list, but this didn't seem to help.

I also verified that this isn't a Trillian-specific thing. I used Yahoo Messenger, which has a similar capability to launch mail from the Messenger window - with exactly the same results. I also verified that this was indeed tied to Adblock Plus - as soon as I uninstalled Adblock Plus, the normal response time (of a few seconds) was restored.

I'm happy to provide other technical information as necessary, if it will help. But for now, I am back to running IE without Adblock Plus installed.

Is this a error with everything that starts a IE with a link, or only if you try to start yahoo mail?
