Amazon drop down box

Post by Spartacus713 »

But how do you block the annoying drop-down boxes on Amazon that appear at the top of pages as you scroll down using Ad-block plus: Element Hiding Helper? Element hiding helper does not currently appear to work on those.

Here is a link to an amazon page. Just scroll down a ways and it will appear. I have tried to use Element Hiding Helper repeatedly to make it go away, and it is not working. This drop-down box is unnecessary, unhelpful and very annoying!

Thanks for any help that anyone might provide.

Thanks for your reply.

I mean the entire bar that pops down from the top across the full width of the browser window, which includes the "see all buying options" button on the right. I have selected the components identified by the code you quoted above using Element Hiding Helper repeatedly, and the bar and the button continue to remain unhidden.

Thanks, but it is not working for me. I even added your filter again manually just now. And I also rebooted my browser, just for good measure. The drop-down remains unhidden.

You are the man! That did it. Thank you very much for your help.

I guess it was just a matter of time before they began trying to slip in intrusive advertising under the protection of being non-intrusive. Unfortunately, this advertising was intrusive. Now it is all blocked.

Thanks again!

@SimSportPlyr
it's about the acceptable ads ==> a special list which can be enabled / disabled, which permits some non-intrusive ads on some sites.

in firefox ==> click ABP icon, filter preferences, "filter subscriptions" tab, at the bottom see that setting ==> "allow some non-intrusive advertising"
in chrome ==> click ABP icon, options, "filter lists" tab, at the bottom see that setting ==> "allow some non-intrusive advertising"
