[feature request] delete last added filter

Post by mouling »

Hi,

I have a small suggestion for improving adblock, let's see if it is relevant.
The problem to be solved is : sometimes, you may add filters by mistake (wrong click, tries to block one specific script among many, ...). It is rather difficult to remove it :
  • - open the filter list
    - find in the list the place where user specific filters end
    - find the filter you added, trying to guess that it is the last in that sub-list (sometimes you dont even know/remember what it should look like)
    - remove it
    - reload the page to check if you deleted the right filter.
I was wondering if it would be interesting to provide a UI / function to address to this problem. I have no precise idea of a good solution, just few suggestions:
  • - an info about the datetime when the filter was added in the filter list
    - a specific menu entry in the adblock window, like a simple button "remove last added user filter" doing this action
    - a specific menu entry in the adblock window, but more complicated, like "last added filters" giving the list (dropdown ? specific window ?) ordered by date (w/wo the date), and possibility to remove filters.
    - an entry in the adblock button in the main FF window, like "undo add filter" or "remove last added filter"
    - ... something else...
Well, as for all feature requests, I let you first check the relevance of the suggestion...

Maybe an Undo function?

I filed bug 15256. You shouldn't count on it being fixed all too soon however.

If you have the list set not to sort in a particular order (no up or down arrows along the 'Filter rule', 'Enabled', 'Hits', 'Last hit' bar, the most recently added filter will be at the bottom.
