I am a big fan of your Adblock Plus and I would like to support you. But I don't find a PayPal Donatebutton on your page. Don't you like Donations?

I mean, you have to pay the domain, maybe the traffic and you work hard for this wonderfull plugin. So why don't you accept donations?

I would be happy if you add a PayPal button to your homepage. Let me be one of the first supporter.

Thank you, I really appreciate the gesture. However, I don't think that any donation would help me develop Adblock Plus. Adblock Plus doesn't cost me anything so far so I would feel bad taking money from people that I can't spend on the project. The only factor relevant for the development is my spare time and it doesn't depend on donations yet.

Well, ok. And how about an sozial organisation where user who like Adblock Plus can donate too? Like Unicef or Similar? That would be nice.

I am reactivating this rather old subject, because as ShAQ said , I really appreciate your work and would like to donate.

In my company we are saving time (thus money) and frustration thanks to adblockplus.

Saying that "you feel bad about taking money" is not correct since we want to give you the money !

I am pretty sure you won't be rich in the end, but financial support, even low, is a proof that people like your work, and as a dev, I know there is nothing better than that !

helping a project also goes by helping it's main dev guy !

Definitely, but it cannot be measured in money. I get money in my day job, and right now I don't need more. But no amount of money can replace sleep or time spent with my family, neither will it increase my motivation to work on Adblock Plus - so what is it good for? As soon as I find something useful (in terms of Adblock Plus development) to spend this money on, I'll come back to you.

I already see that people like my work, e.g. by looking at this forum or the mails I get. Then again, why would millions of people install Adblock Plus and thousands of them write about it if they didn't like the program? With mass media picking up on Adblock Plus, I really feel that I can make a difference with this project - what else do I need?

Money is what you can always need.
And Wladimir, if you don't want to SPEND the money, hog everything on an account (or in gold, in platinum, in diamonds...whatever) and e. g. do a wonderful 4-week vacation with your family
Hotel, Flight ... all paid by the users from their donations

Sorry, but in these times I cannot say "if you want to give me money, keep it to yourself." Everything is so freaking expensive, here in Euro-Pe everything is in Euro currency, which is normally twice/thrice the price of the currency formerly used in a country.
I can NO longer refuse money when I get offered some - never again!

When I see you "colleague", Ludvig Strigeus getting $300 (!!!) donations for his uTorrent, I do know what's an easy way to become a wealthy man!

Considering that this is one of the most viewed topics, I can see I'm not alone in wanting to appreciate your work with a bit of cash. I see that you're adamant in not accepting any, so I won't try to convince you otherwise, but will you accept my sincere thanks for your efforts to make my surfing experience a MUCH more pleasant one?

I'm so spoiled that when I have to use a browser without ABP (IE on occasion, or a friend's computer) that I silently thank you every time that I don't need to deal with pop-ups, banners and other intrusions.

If I can't thank you from the bottom of my wallet, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I would like to donate too!
I understand your feelings and find it highly honorable and virtuous and you probably think it was easy to script etc, but we need people like you and you need more power in order to be able to produce more "good" things. Just like an artist you need to live and pay bills etc and so the money buys your time to paint.

I also think it's good to let people show thier appreciation. To let the energy flow through the places thier instincts tell them is right. Given the fact that you are a good person you could use the donations and hand them on to where you see fit and the "good" can flow on to many other worthy places that perhaps we are not aware of?.
Whatever you decide I wish you well and give you my most sincere thanks for a life enhancing tool that I wouldn't want to ever be without
