Los Angeles Times

Post by enbob »

EasyList and Fanboy cause the byline and the date to overlap on the page for this LA Times article.

caused by ##.mod-adblock and ##.mod-adopenx
Even after whitelist the category name and article title still overlap plus it will cause empty div's all over the site. Does it really need a domain exception?

Code: Select all

##.ad_header
Will cause issues too.

Personally, I fixed the layout.

That said it affects plenty of filters (in our list), and also ##.ad_header

Code: Select all

##.mod-adblock
##.mod-adcpc
##.mod-adopenx
And the benefit does look rather minor, really in similar vain to this request and also creates plenty of other empty div's around the rest of the website.

This page shows you an ad before you can access the crossword puzzle. EasyList and Fanboy block the ad, but it still says "Advertisement" and you still have to wait 36 seconds. Is there anyway to skip it entirely?

EasyList and Fanboy now block the timer that says when the ad will go away. Is it possible to block the ad and display the timer? Right now, it's hard to know if the page is even going to load.

There does not seem to be a way to close the ad if ABP is disabled (and it does not close by itself)...
