[closed] exception rules become added automtically

My Adblock Plus adds rule exceptions automatically. Therefore it doesn't block ads.
When I e.g. add "||ads.xxx.net/*" in my blocking rules by klicking "block" on top of the ad automatically "@@||ads.xxx.net/*" appears in my exception rules.

What can I do?

Thank you for the answer. Meanwhile I notices that I tried to block a flash. In this case Adblock plus seems to turn on the exception rules radio button instead of the blocking rules button. Sorry, my mistake.
