Adblock Plus 0.7 - Development builds

Post by Wladimir Palant »

I'll post latest development builds here whenever I make non-trivial changes. That way people can play around with the changes and test them out before they get released. I would appreciate information about eventual problems, it is easy to overlook something.

If you want to install the build - copy the link and enter it into the address bar manually. Alternatively drag the link into the address bar.

Warning: These builds haven't been fully tested and might not work correctly. Use them at your own risk and make sure to save your filter list.

Information on the latest development build is here: http://p2.forumforfree.com/-vp7080-adbl ... .html#7080

Adblock Plus 0.7+
Adblock Plus 0.7+ (Single-language build, en-US)

Warning: This is a development build and as a such it hasn't been fully tested and might not work properly. Use it at your own risk and make sure to save your filter list.

Changes:
- Added Korean translation
- Fixed issues with configurable shortcut keys on Mac OS X (Tab key would trigger an Adblock Plus action)
- Fixed tiny memory leak
- Moved Tools menu entry to a more suitable location

Known issues
- Yahoo Application State plugin (npYState.dll, installed by Yahoo Messenger) causes crashes on Yahoo Mail if Adblock Plus is installed. It is suggested to remove this plugin, its only function seems to be to notify Yahoo Mail about your version of Yahoo Messenger.
- Flash plugin crashes when Mozilla ActiveX plugin is installed and the option "Show tabs on Flash and Java" in Adblock Plus is activated. It is suggested to deactivate this option.

Notes:
- This is an Adblock Plus 0.7.0.1 release candidate. Plan is to release Adblock Plus 0.7.0.1 this weekend.

The new location for the adblock entry is not bad.

Will you use the new icons in the next release ?

No, it doesn't look like the icons are going to be finished until then.

problem with some Java applet

Post by tranle »

Hi,
I seem to have problem with some Java applet not showing up:
- If you go here: http://www.broadbandreports.com/stest?loc=1
- The java applet only appear to be 1 red dot.
- If you use the back button and forward then you get the full applet display.

If I uninstall AddblockPlus 0.7 then it works fine on first display.
I am also running the FilterSetG updater and using the today trunk build for firefox:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20060513 Minefield/3.0a1

That's probably bug 336875 - please wait until it is fixed on trunk as well (can take a few days given the current checkin limitations).

@Wladimir:

Do you still have "@@https" as a default whitelist in the program install? (can't tell in an update)

I have had complaints about that from various people ... especially from the large cable service, Roadrunner, here. Users complain that they are being served ads in a secure area and don't want them.

What do you think?

Yes, should probably be removed. Maybe replace it by @@|http://www.mozilla.org/? Just to show newbies that you can do this.

Adblock Plus 0.7.0.1 has been released, waiting for AMO's approval. I removed the development builds.

A note: I will be traveling the next two weeks, so I might not be online too often. Don't be suprised if I don't answer immediately.
