Question about the filters

Hi everyone new to the forum and adblock plus as well. I want to know which filter you people commonly use and why ? so that it gives me some idea about which of the filter subscription i should use.

I normally use Easylist and Easyprivacy. The vast majority of my custom filters have no relation to the reason why I use these two filter subscription though.
Here's some of my filters with highest hits:

^1680^
poker.com^
||addthis.com^
||opendns.com^$third-party


I'm also using a lot of "comment filters" to categorize my real filters. Basically anything with an exclamation mark in front becomes a "comment filter", and they are mainly used to keep your list orderly. All my filters are in alphabetical order inside each category.
Example:

!---CONFIGURATION DEPENDANT FILTERS
Monitor resolution filters, sometimes my IP address when applicable. Filters for whatever DNS services you use can also go in here.

(I normally whitelist the good sites that gives you the files immediately, but some sites insist that you wait 60 seconds and requires a captcha to boot... I filter these sites to hell with blocking filters, hiding rules and userscripts, whatever it takes.)

(Sometimes my filters end up here, because I'm just too lazy to categorize them properly or report them to the filterlist. A really bad habit, a really really bad one, and it gets messy too because they aren't sorted alphabetically and they keep stacking up....)

I could easily just recommend my subscriptions but I prefer to to get an idea of what sort of sites the user visits before making any recommendations about subscriptions (mine or otherwise).

Lets start by asking a few simple questions:

Will you be visiting many non English sites and if so what language.
Will you be visiting adult sites
Will you be visiting p2p sites

Different subscriptions are maintained differently so a lot of it comes down to personal browsing habits.

If you had of answered yes to my first question I would have told you not to use my lists and to look at EasyList or possibly Fanboy's depending on which non English languages you needed support for.

I would now recommend that you narrow your choice to either mine or Fanboys...

That should not be a hard decision

Thanks a lot Hubird for narrowing it down u can guess what subscription i would use. ok Is this like install adblock plus with the subscription and forget everything?? Do i have to do anything....... some advice would be wellcome. Sorry if asking some irrelevent question

For the most part you will not have much once you have chosen a suitable subscription(s). The only time you will need to do anything is if you are reporting a false positive (an issue) or an unblocked ad (if you choose to do so).
