they are google ads but somehow were not filtered by easylist

Yes, they are Google ads - but included into the web page on server side. So they need their individual element hiding rule.

I had the same phenomenon with normal text ads from Google. Dr. Evil alone didn't block them. It blocked only the small Google logo, not the 5 text ads in the skyscraper 166x600.. When I use both, Dr. Evil and Ares ABP List+Easylist, AdBlock+ blocked Google ads as before. Also the place for the ads shrinked now.

The EasyList DOES block those.
