EasyList problem with Gamespot flash player

Post by kustodian »

A lot of movies on gamespot.com if they have an advertisement movie before a movie you want to watch can't be watched except in full screen.
ABP blocks the ad-movie and then the main movie doesn't display, you can only hear the sound, or watch the movie in full screen.

Here is an example:

I had to put this filter as an exception so the ad-movie would load:

Code: Select all

Is that the only video that it happens too? I'm not having that problem with any other video there that I've tried.

Funny that it works in Full Screen mode :?

Blocking

Code: Select all

/gamespot/*/faith_v2.swf
seems to fix it (instead of the whitelist).

WHAT?
Are you serious?
I have to actually block something that I allowed to get it to work right? WTF!

Cnet sometimes makes themselves a pain in the a**!

Is that the only video that does that? If so, then tough s**t.

No no, I just meant kustodian's whitelist. The other faith whitelist doesn't affect this item.

My 2c worth:

http://www.gamespot.com/best-of/game-of ... slot;img;1

Does not work for me

But...

http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/action/litt ... s4-trailer

Works fine.

Notice the text:
You're watching our standard resolution format (up to 640x406). Click to watch this video in 540p resolution (960x540). 540p is available for all users.
The 540P version works fine but the 640x406 does not.

I can't get it to work with ABP disabled :? Works in IE for what it's worth.

I noticed that some video always have ad videos before them, but other videos randomly have those ad videos. The problem occurs only when there is an ad video :(

Why bother trying to configure your ad block to suit the ***** at gamespot who put ads in their movies. The only real solution is to go to IGN instead.
