How do multiple subscriptions (Cédrics + EasyList + Dr.Evil) affect the speed of ABP.
Does ABP recognize duplicates of rules to save processing time?
Optimizing Lists
The difference shouldn't be that big, but you will have to decide for yourself. I recommend that you choose only one of the 2 german lists (as they both target the same sites). If you find unblocked ads, don't hesitate to report it to the author(s) of the list(s) to help improving them. You'll maybe find some more information about your question in this topic.Pythagoras wrote:How do multiple subscriptions (Cédrics + EasyList + Dr.Evil) affect the speed of ABP.
As long they are exactly the same rule, ABP will treat them as a single one.Pythagoras wrote: Does ABP recognize duplicates of rules to save processing time?
One of the memory optimisations done in Firefox 3 is to NOT cache decompressed images. Given this and the fact that blocked ads are not downloaded at all, I trust that using adp will actually decrease memory usage for Fx2 for typical usage.
As for maintaining your own list... unless you have a very specific reason to do so, it is usually better to report your problems to the list authors. If they make sense, the authors will improve the list, benefiting all other users as well.

Makes sense, because I have often wondered how people get such high memory usage. Some have claimed 300+MB and I have NEVER seen that.sheepy wrote:One of the memory optimisations done in Firefox 3 is to NOT cache decompressed images.
