Re: List for Turkish sites
As of 19 Feb. 2008, access to geocities.com has been banned to Internet users of Turkey, effected by some judicial order.abp baci wrote:http://www.geocities.com/mukaddesabaci/abp-filtresi.txt

Although I update the list occasionally, I have no interest to host it elsewhere, so it seems the list will be unavailable to said users for an indefinite time.
The following is a rough translation of the above into Turkish:
19 Şubat 2008 itibarıyla Geocities.com'a Türkiye'den erişim yasaklanmıştır, ve bahsi geçen filtre dosyası erişilemez olmuştur.
Yasağın ne zaman kalkacağı belli değildir, ve başka bir web alanı arayışında değilim.
Does it work if you access it as http://www.geocities.com.nyud.net/mukad ... ltresi.txt? If so, I could redirect your users to the new address.
Yes, it works.Wladimir Palant wrote:Does it work if you access it as http://www.geocities.com.nyud.net/mukad ... ltresi.txt?
(I'll inform if/when nyud.net gets axed)
Ok, I added it: http://adblockplus.org/getSubscription? ... ltresi.txt
If any users have trouble accessing your subscription they will be automatically redirected to the Coral URL now.

That redir. is not working for me (FF 3b4, FF 2.0.0.12 on linux)Wladimir Palant wrote:Ok, I added it: http://adblockplus.org/getSubscription? ... ltresi.txt
You probably stated sth about Adblock Plus internals which I cannot get entirely.Wladimir Palant wrote:This will not redirect you immediately. Adblock Plus will only query getSubscription after 50 failed attempts to download the filters.
What I'm saying is, that URI is not a proper HTTP Redirect. It just sends a line starting with 301 but causes no redirection. (or, does it cause Adblock Plus to redirect at all?)
Obviously - I cannot make an HTTP redirect for your site.
Adblock Plus has a fallback, if 50 downloads in row fail for some subscription it will request http://adblockplus.org/getSubscription. This script might then return something like "301 http://new_location/" - and Adblock Plus will try to download the subscription from the new location then. I added this mechanism because the server simply went down for some subscriptions and their authors had no way to redirect the users to the new location.
