While it's easy to add filter strings to Adblock Plus, it is not particularly easy to determine whether they are still useful a few weeks or months down the road.
You could refer to the number of hits, but this still doesn't tell you whether it is currently effective.
A good example would be Xmas ads. These all disappear around Jan 1, but if you've manually added Xmas ads, they will remain on the list for the rest of the year, doing nothing.
A useful feature would be "Date of last hit", which would show when a filter was last used.
Also useful would be an "expire on xx date" or "expire in xx weeks" option for filters, so that they will automatically remove themselves.
Feature Req: Date of last hit, or expire-able filters

It's already an option. Just click on the Columns selector right above the vertical scrollbar.Chan Lee Meng wrote:A useful feature would be "Date of last hit", which would show when a filter was last used.
Re: thanks
If it was turned on by default, I'd be looking for a way to hide it until I wanted that information. I do agree with your experience though: the column options could be more discoverable.Chan Lee Meng wrote:Why not turn it on by default, I wonder?
