This is wrong, because cookies is a function of the Client, and so, if this politicians wants that user get information about the storing - the correct rule were to make a law about clients.
The Problem is now, if you don't like to be tracked you can set your client to store cookies only for a limited time ... for example one session.
But, in this case, you get on every time you enter such a web page the nasty "This side uses Cookies for ... take it or leave page" Messages.
The reason for this is: The user Agreement is also stored on a cookie ....

An additional Switch like "remove social media buttons" to shut this down may be extremely nice Feature.
