bundling adblockplus with firefox install - filters?

Post by coyo7e »

I'm trying to compile an install of firefox which contains all my favorite extensions, so I can install this easily on friends/family's computers, etc, instead of trying to explain to my grandmother or bar buddies how to install a extension and crossing my fingers that they go download whatever it is I recommend.

Is there a way to default a filter selection for adblockplus, since I'm only going to be using this on english-speaking computers..?

I guess you'll have to modify the default profile and add a directory 'adblockplus' with a pre-made patterns.ini in there. Also, you'll have to change the default value of extensions.adblockplus.showsubscriptions to false in the extension's default preferences.

You could also create a "master profile" from within a fresh Firefox installation that
contains everything you want to be in there.

Then all you have to do is

1.) Install Firefox
2.) Copy your master profile's content into the one created by the new installation.
