Enjoy!

Wow. Wouldn't it be better if it just filtered their ads?

There are major false positives with that filterlist.
Here is feedback i did give you:
http://plaza.fi/muropaketti/bbs/t491912
at muropaketti my name is foghorn.

Short version in english, your mainos, mainokset and banner -filters are too general and they block wrong things.

update:
banner -filters are now not that bad?
But at least mainos and mainokset -filters are still too general.
(hongkong.fi -now seems to work with your filterlist, because they have updated their site.)

There is at least one good filterlist for finnish users and that filterlist is EasyList, it's so damn good. It currently needs
http://mainos.*
-filter, and maybe some others.
But it's better block those others with site url in them, or you will have many false positives.
Like viltteri-list now has.

edit: 2 popular finnish sites needs:
http://mainos.*
And because "mainos" is finnish word, i think it's better when EasyList does not have it.

Thank you for the feedback. If you see any website that gives you false positive please send the url at http://www.viltteri.net/ so we can check it. So far I haven't seen problems with Viltteri but I'm only one man (plus Viltteri partners).

The goal with Viltteri is to offer great filter for Finnish users. Please help us to maintain the list by sending feedback at http://www.viltteri.net/

EDIT
The Viltteri is now fixed according to your feedback.

Thx alot!

Good job stealing chewey's regexps there.
Don't tell me you thought nobody here would notice -.-

/[-\/\._\(&=]ad_?(d?s(?!\.)(c|e)?rvi?(ng)?e?r?|\d+\.?|(x|sv?)(\d?|\.js)|sc?(?!(_|\/))|vert.*|view|tech|trix|type|_?str(eam|ing)|code|case|cli(ck|ent)s?)[-\/\._\)\?](?!etr)/$~stylesheet
wow you changed a few symbols here and there that sure fooled us...

As far I have understood - Adblock Plus community is an open source community (i might be wrong).

It is absolytely not secret that Viltteri uses all the best filter lines there is. Of course we do that! Isn't it the goal all of us to create internet as advertise-free as possible.

Currently Viltteri has at least 20 international lines that do the job greatly at Finnish sites as well. And based on the feedback, more is coming up as we learn which lines are the bests in order to filter Finnish websites.
/[-\/\._\(&=]ad_?(d?s(?!\.)(c|e)?rvi?(ng)?e?r?|\d+\.?|(x|sv?)(\d?|\.js)|sc?(?!(_|\/))|vert.*|view|tech|trix|type|_?str(eam|ing)|code|case|cli(ck|ent)s?)[-\/\._\)\?](?!etr)/$~stylesheet

All the lines are original.

Please correct me if you think I have understood something wrong.

Thank you very much.

Ah, now I see why I got that email asking for my blessing...

viltteri: You are still welcome to use parts of my list, but my response
would have been not as friendly as it is if I had seen you getting caught
copying before asking me.

Well... you learned something today, I guess.

Still, welcome to the ABP community.

you right

Post by viltteri »

Yes Chevey, you right. Viltteri has been alive for 3-4 months now. I have tested with my friends your regular expressions about a week now and those what you can see inside Viltteri are the ones we have found most powerful against Finnish advertisers.

And yes, I'm still middle of learning process with the syntax and also how to use other filters as well.

Yep, at least for me the system is much clear now :)

---------
EDIT

Thank you very much for the feedback and emails. I have decided to abdicate of using regular expressions. Instead Viltteri is using only simple syntax. By that way users can give more specific feedback and Viltteri team can understand what the filter is actually filtering :)

Please keep sending more new ideas and false positive links as well. Together we can create high quality filter for Finnish users.

Remember, only Finnish links.

I have used that http://www.viltteri.net/ -feedback form one time, i did report /mainokset/* and /mainos/* -filters, those are still too general.
And you guys removed them fast, but now you are again using same /mainokset/* and /mainos/* -filters, and problems are same.

So it's safe to say that Viltteri -list is bad? :)
