Greetings and salutations,
Recently I've decided to give IE11 a try, and of course using ABP. As I like watching Youtube stuff without being bombarded by ads. However when I do load up IE11 with ABP enabled the home page does not load at all. In fact all I get is a blank screen. The Bing webpage shows up fine, but will not search for anything. It simply locks up, and the only way I can get my IE11 working again is to go into control panel>internet options> then disable third party browser extensions. IE11 works one hundred percent fine after that. There are no other add-ons, period. This is a fresh install as of few moments before ABP's installation. There is ONLY ABP. So there is no conflict in that regard. I find it strange that ABP breaks IE11 in such a way. I've never seen that before. I've tried uninistalling and reinstalling, but that doesn't do anything either. The problem clearly lies with ABP, but how to fix it...I have no idea. The problems only occur with ABP, and everything else works fine. Oh and before someone comes along, and says the most painfully cliché solution "You have viruses or malware"...don't even go there. My computer is completely fine. Thank you for reading, and I hope to find out what might be causing this.
ABP Lock-Ups IE11.
Re: ABP Lock-Ups IE11.
Do you have java installed in your system ?
You could uninstall 1.4 and try the precedent one (1.3) see if works:

Re: ABP Lock-Ups IE11.
Well I should certainly think so as everything java related is working, it shows up on my IE, and in my programs and features. I did already try installing an earlier version of ABP, as it was suggested elsewhere. Didn't work then either, but I will give the version you linked a try, and will let you know if it worked. If you don't hear from me, take that as an indication that I gave up.mapx wrote:Do you have java installed in your system ?

Re: ABP Lock-Ups IE11.
This is a post to confirm that the version you suggested did work...kinda. It no longer kills my IE, but it only blocks...some of the ads. I still see some video ads on Youtube, but I am chalking that up to having an outdated version of ABP. Which this version is. I suppose I could just keep trying newer and newer versions until I hit one that breaks my IE, and I suppose I can ignore the spammy pop-up messages saying my ABP is outdated. It's just one headache after another, and I'll probably just give up on it altogether. Thank you for your help all the same.
