Hi everyone,
Just installed windows 8 to try it out, I installed ABP in the windows 8 internet explorer but can't seem to find it anywhere, cant find a place to see the settings, there's no ABP icon anywhere.
If anyone could tell me where to find it that would be great, thanks!

Hello,
The Adblock Plus icon is on Internet Explorer's status bar (at the bottom of the window). The status bar is hidden by default in recent versions of IE though. To display it, right-click the spot between the New Tab button and the Home button and check "Status bar".

Thank you for the reply, the internet explorer in Win 8 doesn't seem to have a status bar or anything its just full screen, completely different from conventional browsers, it's the one you lauch from the start screen.

The Internet Explorer that runs full screen from the Start Screen can't use plugins like ABP. You need to go to the desktop and launch Internet Explorer from the icon on the taskbar and then you should be able to use ABP with it.

“Metro mode Internet Explorer in Windows 8 and Internet Explorer in Windows RT currently cannot be supported, these are locked down environments that don’t allow any extensions.”

In the off-chance that you actually set the desktop version of IE to full screen, just press the F11 key on your keyboard to switch back to a regular window.
