Re: adverts on outlook mail
I see no unblocked placeholders in Firefox.
What's your browser and version?
What's your version of Adblock Plus?
Where are you seeing the placeholder, in the Inbox list of messages, when reading a message, or elsewhere?

Re: adverts on outlook mail
some times the ads. still appear on outlook mail , but even if there is no ad. showing the area is still fenced off so there is no advantage to be had? (using wind.7 ultimate) on fire fox browser
Re: adverts on outlook mail
Can you answer the questions ? : versions, where are the ads / placeholders
Upload some screenshot (use imgur.com and post here the link)
Scan also for malware / adware: use malwarebytes antimalware (free version) ==> http://filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware

The right placeholder (the grey) doesn't get hidden, you end up losing area that could be used to show more content from an email.

Re: adverts on outlook mail
It could be the same issue that existed when Outlook Mail was known as Hotmail, where the layout makes the e-mail pane stay a certain width to leave space for the ad, and ABP can't collapse that space: forum/viewtopic.php?p=54808#p54808
Try Webmail Ad Blocker for Chrome to collapse that space: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... jakdggkkjp
It is also available for Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... d-blocker/

There's a buzzin' in my brain I really can't explain; I think about it before they make me go to bed.
