Blocks images and won't stop even after uninstall!

I found that Adblock was blocking way too much for my liking - such as all the images on every page of Amazon, including the global navigation. So I first removed the filters, and it was fine on some site but not others. Then I uninstalled it - but its still somehow blocking the images. Amazon is still empty of images and its not any of the standard Firefox settings getting in the way.

If you can please let me know how to totally remove this problem I'd really appreciate it. I'm running Firefox 2.0.0.1 on Mac OSX 10.4.8 and had installed the extension AdBlock 0.7.2.4.

If it has been uninstalled, it cannot function blocking anything.

If you only removed all of the filters and subscriptions, Adblock Plus STILL cannot block anything at all either. Are you sure that there was absolutely nothing in the entire filter box display? Also, do you use CyberSitter?

I just went to amazon and everything functions normally there using my 2 subscriptions.

Firefox itself can block images from a domain blacklist, and certain extensions allow you to suppress image loading as well.

Do you by chance have a HTTP REFERRER plugin installed? something such as Stealther? or RefControl?

I have run into a similar issue on other webpages. Try this website: http://tsunamichannel.com/
If your Firefox block all the pictures like the topbanner, navigation buttons, background image, Then it's not adblock plus' fault. But rather because of HTTP referrer problem.

A few ways to go around this problem:
1. If you have Stealther plugin, go to Tools > Add-ons > Stealther > Options
Uncheck "Referer Header", click okay.
Also if you have other misc. HTTP REFERRER plugings, disable their HTTP REFERRER functions.
Get the RefControl plugin: http://www.stardrifter.org/refcontrol/

In Refcontrol options, set the global default option to "FORGE". Forge is the Best option, basically it lies about the the Header and tells avery site exactly that which they want to hear:), at the same time your anonymity of where you access the pictures/westies from is still kept intact.

2. Uninstall all of your HTTP REFERRER plugins.
Go to about:config
in filter, type: network.http.sendRefererHeader
Rightclick each entry on that list, select RESET.

After a restart of browser, hopefully the blocked image nightmare is over.

This is a really silly problem, I think it's ridiculous that uninstalling the HTTP Header plugins doesn't reset this automatically.

Anyway I hope this was the problem, otherwise I have no clue.

Of course you should do either 1 OR 2. You don't need to do option 2 if option 1 works, since option 1 is the best solution.

I'm having a similar issue.
Running on Firefox 2.0.0.2 using Adblock Plus 0.7.2.4 with subscriptions to Easylist(USA) and EasyElement.
The problem is that I cannot view details of searches on Amazon or on eBay. I guess that Amazon details wouldn't be blocked in the subscriptions, yet I cannot find anything which may be causing the images to vanish.
The exact behaviour is:
The page loads, I see the images for about a second, then they disappear and the free space is compressed. So, Firefox is loading the images initially, but then they are being unloaded for whatever reason.
Any ideas? I've checked my Firefox basic settings and can;t spot anything. I tried the first test posted by Adblock Plus fan and was able to see all the images correctly. Running through the second link everything looked as it should.
As a further issue, if I disable Adblock Plus on Amazon.com, the same behaviour occurs.
Any idea what I am missing here? I've just upgraded to Firefox 2 and am starting to suspect that it may be a Firefox issue given that if I disable Adblock Plus it still does not display the images.

I am having no problems with search results on either site with EasyList/EasyElement. Do you have your javascript disabled or using NoScript?

Javascript is enabled and I'm not using NoScript.
I suspect that it's nothing to do with Adblock as the details do not display even when Adblock is disabled.

You might have 3rd-party images blocked in Firefox.

I'm not sure what's wrong, but at least we can make sure if it's the httpReferer issue or not.

If you can see it no problem, then I don't any idea of the problem. But if you can't see it, then it's (edit: possibly a Referer issue you have.

Actually - yes, it does. If you open http://images.anandtech.com/reviews/mon ... t-skew.jpg directly you won't see anything. They only serve images if they get their own referrer header (something I am thinking about every time I see some dumbheads inserting images from adblockplus.org in forums).
