Marking elements as ads or blockable

Post by suiiii »

Hey

I am looking for a standard or convention to mark elements within html as blockable for ad blockers. So removing the "wrong" element would not break the site and also just out of convenience.

My current use case is this:

I built a website that has one of these GDPR cookie banners. Since it is custom made it is not blocked by common filter lists. I would like to annotate the element with an attribute or css class so it is picked up by most ad blockers in their standard configuration.

Is there such a marker or annotation?

I already did some extensive search and also asked around without getting an answer.

Alternatively, I could just pick a rule general rule from for example easyList, but there is no guarantee that this is rule is not removed in the future
