Adblock and Facebook chat conflict

Post by premier69 »

I just cannot get the Facebook chat to work when adblock if enabled, It's currently turned off so I can use the chat.
I've reinstalled it now to no effect so now I have to ask for help.

Are there settings and filters left over? How do i perform a 100% clean install of adblock and element hiding?

Are there any localized ad filters for Sweden / Swedish?

A filter in what ever subscription you are using is most likely blocking something that is causing your problem.

Please submit an issue report on the affected page and post the generated link in this topic.

To create an issue report navigate to the page in question, click on the ABP icon and select "Report issue on this page" (be sure to fill out the report with as much detail as possible).

We should then be able to offer some more help.

It looks like you have what is most likely a custom filter (created by you) ||facebook.com$domain=~somedomain.com this is most likely the culprit although a report would be more informative.

If you can try to get your ABP icon vissible so you can access the issue report tool.

Ctrl + Shift + F will bring up the ABP preferences box. The preferences box will have an Options menu.

Inside the options menu try ticking "show in tool bar" show in status bar" hopefully one of these options will make you ABP icon visible. If you icon is still not visible try customising the Firefox toolbar (look for the ABP icon and drag it onto your toolbar.

It may need top be dragged from the Firefox add-on bar to you toolbar.
