"Deal Chicken" on gannett pages

Post by hatesgannett »

Need a filter to block the "dealchicken" stuff on Gannett pages - see http://www.democratandchronicle.com/ - looking to get rid of the awful purple "wrap" around the edges of the page, while making sure that multipage stories on the site can still have pages 2 and beyond viewed.

I'm looking for this filter as well.

I find that if I create a "quick filter" with adblock, it will block the banner -- BUT ONLY ON THAT SPECIFIC PAGE -- no other pages, and it reappears if I refresh the page.

Added to EasyList (https://hg.adblockplus.org/easylist/rev/8291d06bb4ab)

Code: Select all

I don't believe it to be possible to use the forward and back buttons with Easylist due to some exceptionally poor coding and very dubious assumptions on behalf of Gannett.

Here's an oddity.

My ABP filters at home work perfectly for Gannett. I can view comments, I can read beyond the first page of a multipage story. And I don't see that awful "Deal Chicken" wrap. But at work, something I did keeps me from clicking onto page 2 and beyond of a story.

Is there an easy way of exporting my ABP filters from home, then importing them at work?

Custom filters may be imported and exported via the "Filters" menu in Adblock Plus preferences window, although the subscription is also likely to affect the functionality of the domain.
