Ad block detection

Post by Alex505 »

Hi,

Could someone please help me to make a filter for this website:

http://forum.fok.nl

They thought it would be okay to shove these ads through my throat. When i enable adblock, i get a message, and they also disable all the javascript things from their website..

Try adding these to your personal filters:

Code: Select all

fok.nl##.adfieldbg
@@||pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/*/show_ads_impl.js$script,domain=forum.fok.nl
@@||pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/expansion_embed.js$script,domain=forum.fok.nl
@@||pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js$script,domain=forum.fok.nl
@@||googleads.g.doubleclick.net/pagead/test_domain.js$script,domain=forum.fok.nl
@@||googleads.g.doubleclick.net/pagead/ads?client=$subdocument,domain=forum.fok.nl

Thanks for your reply..

I tried it, but it still gives me the warning, and they still block the javascript functionality :evil:

Any other ideas? :cry:

Are you using Firefox ?

Can you be more specific about the problem "still block the javascript functionality" is not really enough info.

When I use the filters I suggested I get no warning message.

Sure,

The website is a forum, so, what they do is block ajax updates of new posts, smileys, quotes, bbcode.. everything.

I am using firefox.

This is the warning I'll get:

Image

What it says is basically 'required javascript could not be activated. This is because of the use of an adblocker, and you'll have to disable it.'

Can you add the filters I posted into your custom rule (make sure they are all there and active). If the page still does not work create an ABP issue report and paste the link here for us to take a look at.

I tried it again, but no success. So I've created the report, like you said.
Do i need to send you the URL to the report?

Thanks for your help..

Okay. Apologies for the late reply.

I created a new one, because the other one contained my email address. I don't want to post that here..

First and easiest thing to do is test each subscription you have on it's own (you have 3). Hopefully you can narrow it down to a particular subscription causing the problem.

I will have a better look at your report tomorrow, time for me to go to bed...

You mean that I'd have to disable all the subscriptions, and then enable them one by one to see if one is causing the problem?

I am going to do that now..

Good night ;)

I tried to disable all filters, and then enable only one, or two. But still no luck :cry:

Can you test if

Code: Select all

@@||$domain=forum.fok.nl,script,subdocument
fixes the site for you. We don't want to keep that rule it is just for testing.

Still no solution.. Although I don't get a warning message on the forum index (don't get it without that rule btw). I still get it on the other pages like http://forum.fok.nl/forum/3 and http://forum.fok.nl/topic/1574972

I never see the message with the rules mentioned active, so I'm at a bit of a loss to help you. If you want to resolve this (for yourself and anybody else) it might come done to you allowing me to remote into your PC so I can have a look at the page myself.

I completely understand if this is not acceptable. If you want to do this send me a private message a we will go from there.
