Adblock Plus

I was having trouble with a game on facebook and I was told to allow an exception for the game with AdBlock in order to use the application. I tried. It did not work. (I still could not view what I wanted) So I deleted the exceptions I made, only the side ads came back! I have uninstalled and reinstalled AdBlock Plus THREE times, but EVERYTIME I reinstall it, it reinstalls the same way I had it last! Why is that? I just want AdBlock to go back to the way it was before some bozo at Meteor games advised me to allow the exception. PLEASE someone tell me how to put AdBlock back to the way it was. I HATE those side ads on Facebook.

First what filter subscription are you using ?

If none try adding Fanboy's lists and see if that takes care of them.

Are ads on other sites blocked ?

Hi. Everything WAS fine, like I said until I tried changing things. I think the only thing I am subscribed to is EasyList USA. I think it is fine elsewhere...I haven't really checked. I guess I should. I'll see if your suggestion helps though. Thanks.

Oh THANK YOU! It looks like those annoying Facebook ads are gone again!

WAIT! Oh NO! Now it is doing the exact same thing to ALL the games now! It is working TOO good. I don't know if you are familiar with FB games, but there is an option to "gift" people something. I can pick what gift I want to send, then you are supposed to go to another screen that lets you chose who to send that gift to. With the Meteor game, that was the problem I was having, but it was the ONLY game with that problem. Now, Farmville is doing the same thing. How do I make an exception for ONLY that one feature I need?!

So you subscribed to Fanboy's lists and the ads are gone but some of the games don't work correctly is this correct ?

If so can you please disable everything under the "My Ad blocking rules" and "My Element hiding rules" (just to rules out any of you filters).

While you are looking at the ABP preferences can you please double check exactly which subscriptions you are currently subscribed to.

Where do I find "My ad blocking rules" and "My Element hiding rules"? I looked but didn't see anything that said that. This ONE game is driving me nuts! It is called "Island Paradise". I believe Farmville is working okay again, but "Island Paradise" is going to make me lose my mind! If someone wouldn't mind checking that game out and telling me exactly what to do I'd appreciate it. The problem is, when you go to the page to "add neighbours" or "send gifts"...the section where you select the friends is a complete blank. Just white, no nothing. I can't add neighbours, which means I am stuck with the island size I have now! I can't send gifts, so I am not getting any from anyone else either. Grrrr!

Tools, Adblock Plus Preferences.

They are displayed in the same screen that shows which filter subscriptions you have. If you see your filter subscriptions listed but not these two categories that means you have no custom rules added which is fine.

Without all the relevant info we can't help you.
