AdBlock Plus Blocking Login

I have adblock plus v1.1.1 running in Firefox, and for some reason it's blocking the "login" feature of my local newspaper.

If I browse to www.press-citizen.com with adblock disabled, I can see the "login" option towards the top/left of the screen. However, when I enable adblock (which is a must on this site due to the obnoxious ads) and refresh, the login option goes away. I've tried going through the filters to see what might be causing this, and disabling a few of them, but nothing seems to help other than disabling adblock all together. Is it possible that a site owner can see that I have adblock running and deny me the ability to login based on that? This only seemed to happen in the last month or so.

I have the following subscription:
http://easylist.adblockplus.org/easylist.txt and it's on the standard 5-day update cycle, with the last update being on 10/28/09.

If anyone would be willing to go to the site and try to figure out what rule would be blocking the login, I'd really appreciate the help.

Adblock Disabled looks like this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/44117297@N04/4055089843/

Adblock Enabled looksl ike this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/44117297@N04/4055831162/

Thanks in advance.

I had trouble with this one too....

Seems like they have multiple levels of detection, I opened a thread in the EasyList PVT forum (prob best to discuss it in private).

Is there a way for me to see that forum? Or do I have to be invited?

You have to be invited, but it's being discussed in that forum and the fix would be put in the filterset (Easylist) that you use, so you will be ok when it gets added/fixed. The maintainer of that filterset has struggled to find the time to do much with the list lately, but hopefully that will change in the near future.

That's a bit of a tricky site.

The best I can do is suggest that you add:

Code: Select all

@@*$domain=press-citizen.com,script
It is not as targeted as I would like but it seems to do the trick.

I added that in and it allows the login, but also allows ads to appear again.

No big deal though, I'll just wait for the Easylist fix to come out. Thank you for the help, I do appreciate it.
