Connection Issues with Yahoo! Mail

Post by cowboyclinto »

A few months ago I started having connections issues with Yahoo! Mail. I either can't connect at all or I cannot send newly created messages. This didn't happen every single time I tried to log on but it happens 2-3 times out of 4 attempts. As it turns out, when I disable Adblock Plus, the issue goes away. I've tried disabling all Easylist USA entries related to Yahoo Mail which has definitely helped, but the connection issue will still recur frequently. Short of uninstalling the add-on completely, I'm stumped as to how else to resolve the issue. This didn't start happening until about 2-3 months ago. I know that Yahoo! support has said that the latest version of Norton caused major server issues when they installed it. Any help would be appreciated. If this topic is already opened elsewhere on the forum, my apologies. I could not find a topic directly related to this issue when I searched.

What is the exact error message displayed by Firefox? Maybe you can even make a screenshot and upload it to http://imageshack.us/.

I have the same problem with yahoo. There are no error messages, just that if one click on the in box the page will not ,load, or if you click on the junk mail the page will not open, but once adblock is disabled EVERYTHING WORKS FINE.

So I use firefox with vista.

Looks like a rewrite of adblock is in order, or maybe just maybe Yahoo does not want their ads disabled.

JOE123, if you don't have an error message then it is not the same problem and you've just hijacked an unrelated discussion. You will find your solution here: en/getting_started#false-positives. If you have questions, please create a new topic for them rather than replying here.
