Need to Control Jimmy's Volume!

Post by dougjp »

Here's a challenge I haven't been able to fix. Its more of a nuisance, however I'm thinking there should be a way to fix it within Adblock Plus.

The media player doesn't appear on opening although the streaming music plays:

I can create an exception for the ad part and then it shows, however the media player still doesn't. EXCEPT if I right click and choose "View Background Image". The background image of the sea shows in a shrunken window, then I hit the "Back" arrow to revert to the original page, and the media player is showing!

Any ideas?

Yes, several people reported such issues. Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce that issue myself and consequently cannot file a Mozilla bug (the problem is either on Mozilla's or Media Player's side).

If you use Vista, i did heard that, that one has some Media Player issues when Adblock Plus is installed.
If your Firefox version is 3.0.9.
Then try with latest beta: Firefox 3.1beta3
and Firefox 3.5beta4 will be released very soon: April 22-24.

You can try Firefox 3.1Beta3 (soon 3.5Beta4) also using portable Firefox version: http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/f ... table/test

ps: i don't use Vista, so i can't test any bugs.

Fox, current Adblock Plus version has issues with 3.1 Beta 3 (element hiding hits not counted, whitelisting not applying to element hiding). Waiting a few days for 3.5 Beta 4 is a better advice I think.
