A friend visiting viewed this site on my laptop: QuiBids.com I did not sign up neither did the other person, only searched and viewed items.
The next day, I started receiving spam about the types of items they had viewed! From email addresses like quibidsdiscountauctions@benlen.science, QuiBids@xumati.science, quibidspennyauctions@xumati.science, etc. Sent to 2 of my email addresses from the same domain. So it seems spammers are tracking viewers directly or paying the company to track and report on visitors. But even so, how did they know my email addresses??? Is there something in my computer's unique ID or browser settings that has somehow tagged my domain/emails to my computer? Is there any AdBlock filter I can use to prevent such creepy example of tracking from happening again? I usually block tracking scripts I notice on sites I visit, unfortunately not then, as I wasn't the one browsing.
My filters: EasyList, Facebook annoyances blocker, my custom filters.
Using Firefox 38 on a MacBook Pro
Thanks!
What filter can I use to prevent creepy example of tracking?
Re: What filter can I use to prevent creepy example of tracking?
it's malware
first:
scan your system for malware / adware
use malwarebytes antimalware (free version) ==> https://www.malwarebytes.org/
and adwcleaner http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/
then see here how to remove that specific infection ==> follow the manual steps !

Malware? WTF! To think I even use LittleSnitch, all to prevent such, yet... Unfortunately, the 2 malware tools suggested are PC only (I'm on a MacBook). Searching for alternatives - if other Mac users know of any, please let me know.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Thanks. I'll search for more manual methods, including related list of files to find and remove from my harddrive, as most info pertains to PCs.
So far, using some of the steps mentioned in previous link, I've checked and I don't have any unexpected extensions/plugins installed. I also haven't experienced any popups.

Re: What filter can I use to prevent creepy example of tracking?
Well, I just did a manual search and removal process by combing through different pockets of my hard drive with list of files to look out for. So, it appears there is no adware/spyware/malware on my desktop. But I still don't know how those assholes got my email, just by my computer visiting their site. At least I blocked a number of their scripts and blocked site from setting cookies.
