fanboy-dimensions-adblock(alpha-v2)

http://www.fanboy.co.nz/adblock/alpha/

I thought

Code: Select all

*size=728x90&*
Might be a useful addition :?:

It blocks an empty frame on http://au.lifestyle.yahoo.com/

I know an empty frame is not a very good example but I thought I would put it out there :!:

I'm sure there was a reason why I didn't add that particular filter, but I'll re-add it anyway ;)

Code: Select all

*=178x60;*
Blocks some empty frames on http://cars2.ebay.com.au/

It's a fast filter and might be a useful addition to your list. If ebay are using those dimensions for ads others might too.

http://rtm.ebaystatic.com/15/RTMS/Image ... 60x600.gif

Both are blocked by filters in your list. Not a big loss (I would probably block these in my personal list) but not everyone would and it is a F/P none the less.

Filters in question:

Code: Select all

*_728x90.*
*_160x600*
I'm not sure if you want to white list, delete or ignore this.

I guess I could whitelist them?, however they do look like ads, well the deal finder one does. I guess if I get more complaints about it, I'll whitelist part of ebays site.

You seem like your ebay :P tried the firefox extension, http://ebayenhancer.firefoxstuff.net/

fanboy-dimensions-adblock (alpha-v2) causes imdb to constantly reload the page.

For now I added the following whitelist:

Code: Select all

sorted, so how do you find the list? catch many ads?

It gets a reasonable amount of hits, hard to know how many of those are "unique" (how many would not be caught by my other subscriptions) but I think it is worthwhile

Here is my top ten:

*=728x90;* 91
*=300x250,* 63
*=468x60,* 57
*_468x60_* 49
*_728x90.* 29
*_160x600* 24
*=160x600;* 19
*=728x90,* 18
*=300x250;* 13
*size=300x250&* 08

After those I have another 28 filters with hits on them ranging from 7 to 1.
