I can't block a flash object

Post by blaqwerty »

Hi, I was on this forum (http://www.comunidadchevy.com/modules.p ... opic&t=533), at the end of the page is a flash object named (id: altototal, href: http://www.altototal.com/images/logoaltototal.swf). I created a filter trying to block it but my filter isn't working. These are filters I've tried:

Code: Select all

http://www.altototal.com/images/logoaltototal.swf
http://*logoaltototal.swf
*logoaltototal.swf*
How should I write a filter to block the flash object?

Your filters are correct, I think maybe it is whitelisted. Can you check the image by pressing on the abp icon? You will get "blockable items", then viewing the url of the image
Also check if abp is enabled, if it is, the icon should be colored red, not gray
Which filter set are you using? It is suggested in the documentation not to use filter set G

thanks smk, abp is enabled, I'm using filter suscription (EasyList(USA)). I also checked the blockable items and the flash object I'm trying to block is not listed. Any suggestions?

It should be, I see it right here:

Could you try to look again? If you find it you should be able to see if it's whitelisted or not. If it's whitelisted then it should have green letters and tell you which whitelist filter is currently in effect.

Thanks, the "problem" was that I previously blocked the page using NoScript, so I was not able to see the flash object in the blockable items window. What I did to block it was: temporarily allowed the site (NoScript) then I used ABP to block flash object.
