Yahoo

Here are the 4 Yahoo Filters (along with 2 others which apply to other sites I won't include) that filter the most Yahoo content, up until recently:

/us\.(a|i|js)1\.yimg\.com/us.yimg.com(/a/|dell|email|i|lib|mantle|medici|mnt|/.*personals.*|pim|promotions|mail/mailcommonlib\.js|medici|sp\_mailplus|us/news/th/twc\_logo2)/
/personals\.yahoo/
/mail\.yahoo\.com/(\.swf|mailplus)/
/(\.a1|/a/ya/yahoo_overture/|flash|\.ard|\.i1|\_movies\.swf?clickTAG|reg/EC?|sgcat-shop|47x95|300x250|425x600|us|\?!vision|/world_class_strategy/)\.yimg)/

In addition I use almost 4k of RIP's (Remove it Permanently). Of late, Yahoo apparently are
1. Using many more ads
2. Switching their website "format" to something new.

My questions are:

1. Is anyone else having problems forwarding a message to a checked contact and having FX crash when clicking on "insert" button
2. Should these filters continue to work on the new format

I personally have dumped Yahoo and switched to GMail - but my girlfriend insists on using Yahoo as she employs some of the bells and whistles of "My Yahoo." For now, I've suspended the 4 AB filters and the RIPs, and she can deal with the ads - but I'm wondering oif there's a better way and more importantly why is Yahoo so "difficult" - more than ANY other website - to use with Firefox avoid ads. It is truly a NIGHTMARE.

I'd appreciate any responses/thanks/p

Yahoo mail is pretty good, but the privacy issues are a factor. do you have Filtergset. It blocks the images and flash advertisements, but I usually just put similar pages and block the text ads and the images that pop up every so often with remove it permanetly, no biggy for me.

There's customize google for their ads and stuff, and soon enough customize yahoo and other searchengines, and you can use greasemonkey, remove redirects, toggle cookies, remove it permanetly, noscript, adblock for all the bad ish the web throws at u.. dont you just love firefox? because i sure do!

Yes, I do. Also, I agree with both "guests." RIP is excellent for the stuff the filters won't get - but we'll have to change filters and RIPs alike for the new site, I believe.

I'm more concerned with the 2 specific questions I asked, particularly #1. I have tried to isolate it to a bad filter or RIP - but it does it whether or not AB+ and/or RIP are disabled. Wondering if I need the new beta (I do have BOTH object tabs and "check DIV elements" unchecked.
