Creators.com and Adgardener

Creators.com seems to have conspired with adgardener to make sure their ads CANNOT be removed from the top of the page. No matter what I do with Adblock Plus, the ad will not go away, not even temporarily. Any ideas?

Easylist blocks them.

Alternatively try this:

Code: Select all

.adgardener.com/

I'll try your code too, but even my catch-all *adgardener* doesn't work. Even though I don't get adgardener on any other page on the web. Just on creators.com. And actually, only on this one computer. If I use a different computer, I don't have this problem.

Maybe you have a whitelist active on that site then?
You can check this in the ABP preferences menu.

I don't know how to tell if something is whitelisted, but I can tell you I never whitelisted anything

It could have been done accidentally, for example maybe you did this without noticing:

To check for active whitelists, open the Blockable Items List with ctrl+shift+V

It will look like in these pictures: http://adblockplus.org/en/tips?tip=effective_filter
Except active whitelists are shown with green instead of red.

Scroll around on that list to check for whitelists.

You didn't mistakenly create a whitelist of adgardener too, did you?
In the "blockable items", a whitelisting would be green and start with @@.

Something similar to or containing (maybe something else):

Code: Select all

@@adgardener

It was a whitelist item created by Filterset.G. Thanks to your help, I was able to look through the list this morning, figure out which one was allowing it to show, and take it off. It didn't have ad or adgardener anywhere in it - it was just a bunch of gibberish characters. No way would I have known that's what was setting it off without your help, so thanks.
