Another Twitch Anti Adblock Plus measure

A box shows within the stream box saying 'We had trouble loading this ad for you' with a 30 second timer. If you attempt to close it the stream audio is muted until you refresh and see the same box again. This started showing up now starting today the 13th when attempting to watch any Twitch stream.

That seems to have done the trick. Thanks for all the hard work you, MonztA, Famlam, Khrin, Crits, Wladimir and whoever else I left out for continuing to keep Adblock Plus working at its best.

I have added fanboy's exception to my own filter list, but I am still seeing this popup on the video when I open a new stream and when the broadcaster manually starts ads on their stream. Do you have any other suggestions? I'm using Chrome with just the standard Easylist and my own filter list was empty initially.

Edit: I did a little more poking around and some channels are not prompting and some are. I'm a consistently getting prompted from the DansGaming, ManvsGame & Rabbitbong channels if that helps at all.

Fanboy: I'm now noticing when Partners/Channels you can subscribe to run an ad now, it's showing just a blank screen with the banner on the bottom asking to support this streamer and a link for feedback about said ad.

I did some digging and only found out which already blocked ads trigger the anti-pop-up window, which are

But the thing is if you whitelist those 3, instead of getting the anti-pop-up window, you'll sometimes get the regular ads - like having abp disabled.
I also sometimes get no ads or the black ad window frame without any ads playing which lasts between 15-30 seconds (depends on which ad its cycling through) but only because I have so much stuff manually filtered from trying to figure out a way around this - so far no luck

Sadly I don't have much experience in this area, but from what I can tell is that Twitch implemented some kind of script/code that waits for a response from the ad and if it gets no response (ad getting blocked or the ad times out) the script/code sends the anti-pop-up message through flash itself? Idk. Like I said, I don't know much about this stuff and those are only speculations. As for now I'm out of ideas

Indeed, I'm hoping for an update from the Adblock Staff to continue to watch Twitch uninterrupted like we used to do before this Ad Blocking Prevention bs started on the 13th. Twitch needs to have it further pounded into their heads that they'll lose this war.

I've been watching the forum for an official update regarding this problem since late last year. Either the person in charge of ABP is unable to fix the problem still or simply won't, let's hope it's the former.

I came to post about this. The new ad is extremely annoying, all you see is a black screen and you have to refresh the page to get rid of it. A fix would be amazing.

Twitch has 3 types of ads.

1. Type: 2011 - Current
The old standard ad which plays when abp is disabled. This one is being blocked.

2. Type: ~End of 2013 - 11.Feb.2014
This 'was' one of the newer ads. I have not seen this in quite a while now. Guessing they replaced it with the 3rd Type, but blocking this one does not get rid of the 3rd Type.

3. Type: 12.Feb.2014 - Current
This is the newest ad which you get when blocking the 1st Type of ad (Triggers when blocking: http://s0.2mdn.net/instream/flash/v3/adsapi_3.swf, http://s0.2mdn.net/instream/flash/v3/adsapi_3_0_110.swf, pubads.g.doubleclick.net)

The one you linked seems to be the 2nd type, because you could not close it (as op states), but the 3rd type you can close. No idea why some people get a black screen.. the only time I'm getting the black screen (which is not closeable but closes after 15-30seconds) is -like I said in my previous post- when whitelisting the 3 said links and getting a 'bad' ad cycle. I guess we have to wait since the 3rd type of ad is still experimental.
