likely a filter is blocking access to gmail.

Post by Zoloft »

I have not been able to access my gmail account in about a week using firefox.

My current lists are:

I am fairly certain it is an issue with one of the lists because
1) I can access gmail properly in IE, and
2) when running firefox in safe mode, I can also access gmail.

When attempting to log into gmail, it freezes up at the "Loading. . . " screen

Thank you very much for your time and any suggestions!

I don't think that it is the EasyList, EasyElement, or ABP Tracking Filter as I use gmail and it is working fine for me with those. I have also worked with others to straighten out problems with different gmail 'zones' about a month ago, and have had no complaints about those kind of problems since.

First ... are your subscriptions up to date? If they are, try disabling Jamie's subscription as all the other subscriptions you have in your list are mine and seem to be working just fine there (sorry Jamie, I'm just checking).

Also, I noticed that you have "Advertisement Filters" showing. This is only created by YOUR personal rules. Is something in there blocking something else that the subscriptions aren't? Those are YOUR filters, y'know ... and not part of any of our subscriptions.

ps Wladimir:
Maybe you should remove that part in the prefs that says "Advanced users can use regexps .... " or add "but it's not recommended" :)

Gmail is working perfectly here on my (JamiePlucinski.com) filters. You should try forcing an update for all subscribed filters (just in case as I know there was a bug in my list recently that was fixed in the past few days) or post any custom rules you have added if the update doesn't work, as they may be to blame :)

There were some instances where different regional versions were being blocked while they were still working fine in the US. I had to address those last month. Did you see those posts?

I did an update on all subscriptions, and that solved the issue!

Thank you all for your time and help!

I just did an update on all subscriptions, and that solved the issue!
Ah, good.

I guess we just always assume that everyone autoupdates the subscriptions. I'm sure that there are many who don't. Glad it is fixed now. :D

Users need to make sure that when they have a problem that they have the latest subscription updates as things change quickly in the filters at times.
