Blocking EBW ads

I am trying block all of EBW's ads, as everyone knows this website used to install spyware and has awful flashy ads everywhere. ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ebaumsworld for more info)

I am using EE, EL and ABP tracking filter filters.

The only thing showing up are the annoying text ads, see ss:
http://img3.freeimagehosting.net/uploads/21390e1a90.jpg

I can get rid of all of them using

Code: Select all

http://eacs.ebaumsworld.com/jsadplace.php?id=*
http://www.ebaumsworld.com/adcodes/*
But the
[ > Get your link here!
with the red arrow is still showing

The red arrow can be easily blocked (http://images.ebaumsworld.com/images/red_tri2.gif) but the text still remains.

Here is the text in the html code

Code: Select all

    <br />
    <div id="eacs-sidebar">
        <script type="text/javascript" src="http://eacs.ebaumsworld.com/jsadplace.php?id=8"></script>
        <a href="http://eacs.ebaumsworld.com/booking.php" target="_blank"><img src="http://images.ebaumsworld.com/images/red_tri2.gif" alt="Get Hits To Your Site" width="19" height="10" border="0">Get your link here!</a>
    </div>
    <br />
    <div id="vc-sidebar" align="center">
Any ideas?

Thx

There is no "admin" that makes a subscription list here. This forum is owned by Wladimir Palant. He is the author of ABP but is not involved with creating any subscriptions. You would have to address whoever is the author of your subscription (most filter authors are here ... but not all).

Yeah there is no official list, as it stands ebaumsworld has been advert free for ages on my list... with the exception of that single link that I seem to have missed... it'll be added to my list in the next update.

Actually that site still looks pretty clean here. I thought maybe something had changed (as it always seems to around the web :? )

I have no problems there with my 3 subscriptions. Whose are you using?

EDIT:
Never mind ... got the left side. EasyElement :arrow: :arrow: :arrow:

@Jamie:
Is this better?

Code: Select all

ebaumsworld.com#div(id=eacs-sidebar)
... takes out the LINKS arrow too.

@rick: Site is completely clean for me here, even the arrow vanished... but that entry seems to clear up the (empty) box that surrounded the link.

I guess it'd be safer to add that filter in case ebaumsworld added another link :)

There's an annoying text ad about stupid t-shirts displayed at the top of videos. I got rid of it using:

http://eacs.ebaumsworld.com/jsadplace.php?id=*
http://www.ebaumsworld.com/adcodes/loc= ... =video/id=*
