cannot delete a filter

Post by Bodega »

Under filter subscription: Filterset.G [www.perceive.com] is listed revsci.net which causes certain web pages not to run.

How to eliminate (or disable) this one filter? I have tried selecting it, then right click/Delete or Edit/Delete and that removes the entire group. Also on context menu have tried Edit, but that doesn't work either.

Just click off the green bullet after "revsci.net" in that subscription and hit "Apply" ... that will disable it.

Thanks, that did the trick!

Suggestion: Allow notes, perhaps attached to a filter where one could enter why it was added or disabled. Altnernatively allow the filter to be copied to a note which would open from one of the drop down boxes.

Incidentally when I joined this forum I inadvertently hit the "under 13" and received a msg that must be signed by an adult and faxed or mailed in. So I had to register in another name with another email address. Is there a way to kill the first one which is under [removed]. Then I could re-register that one and delete the dummy currently being used.

In fact notes are allowed.

You add a filter as you normally do, then at the beginning you just write an exclamation mark and then whatever note you want to put there. For example:

Code: Select all

! filter from .... because ...
And when you want to arrange a note under a specific filter, mark the note, hold down ctrl, use up/down arrow keys.

The only issue I have is that I don't know how to make notes in the Element Hiding rules or Exception rules.

Also since you use FiltersetG, you should have a read here: http://adblockplus.org/en/faq_project#filterset.g
Just in case you didn't know.

I removed the other account.

This "under 13" thing is pretty stupid. I guess the US law will not let me remove it entirely? Then maybe I can simply require anybody registering in this forum to be over 13?

Weeeell - neither you nor your server are in the US - and contrary to some of
their policymakers' beliefs, US law is not applicable outside of it. ;-)

So why would you care?

Wladimir, no question as to your age, I believe you're over 13! (interesting your name is spelled with a W in lieu of a V. Guess I have the country confused.)

Great, I've set up Milesch as the login with no difficulty -- the American child has been removed. Forgot to check how to eradicate bodega, so if I cannot, will you please do that for me?

Tomorrow will get into the details of adblock plus and adblock filterset. Hopefully after a couple of questions I won't need to bug you any longer.
